My computer, on the other hand, is conveniently already equipped with such a device. I don't and I have no intention of purchasing one. Your method presupposes that you actually own a DVD recorder. Everyone's requirements and constraints are different. Results are good and I can the PC processing a whole batch of these recordings overnight if necessary.Īll that messing about getting em to your pc and using different apps to burn em to dvd etc is crazy.Just burn straight to a dvd recorder from the scart connection to whatever quality you want. Most recorders will let you edit the recording hiding any ads etc.If you need to edit the dvd further then just rip the dvd in your pc and author it with one of the many excellent and easy progs out there. It's that simple. CCE also has a built in batch facility whereas I had to write a little batch file to batch process files with QuEnc. I was using the slower but free QuEnc encoder before and getting very good results. I use CinemaCraft Encoder basic to do the actual encoding because it's fast, the results are good, and it wasn't too expensive. Then I have an AviSyth script that crops 92 pixels from each side and then stretches the picture back to 720 pixels wide and re-muxes the audio & video. I couldn't find anyway of tricking my DVD players to 'zoom in' and play these pillarboxed recordings properly so I now Edit and save as a 4:3. I assume you are re-encoding for the correct aspect/size which obviously works for you, but in theory it shouldn't need to be done. What bugs me is that the Humax obviously plays this back correctly and yet when transferred to DVD I am unable to tinker with any flag settings to size the screen correctly. Yes, I know what you mean with the BBC3? (I think) channel.
